PostSubject: History of CAMM   2nd November 2009, 9:04 pm

How it all started...

There were a few local asinus that would hang out regularly Wednesday nights. We all worked/lived in the general Fox Valley area. We all met on another forum and soon became pretty tight! We would go out have a few sodas, return home, and pillage the forum, LOL! It was a great beginning to what CAMM is now. Soon enough more of the locals that frequented the same site started hanging out on Wednesday nights. From Chicago, to Joliet, to Plainfield, to St. Chuck, to Bartlet, to Mchenry, to Montgomery, to Batavia...we all had our Mopars in common. The real bonding agent of the group though was a trip about a dozen of us took to Tennessee! One of the coolest rides in my car I have ever had, thank you all!

Upon return bonds were stronger than before and our antics had us multiplying. None of which fables are written in any kind of epic proportion, but they gave us the foundation of what we have today. We were given our own club forum on the other board to organize ourselves. It did what was intended. We were entering shows as a club. We were printing our own tee shirts, cards, and stickers. As a club all of us have wrenched on just about all of our cars in sort of capacity. When our welcome was worn else where, this new house was created.

We have seen our families grow. We have seen endeavors taken on by one another. We drink together, we laugh together and I am sure we will cry together. So what do we have today...?

CAMM, a fully self sufficient Mopar car club. Let there be no mistake that CAMM is a car club, but also it is a family!

Where are we @? We are everywhere, but we gather and hang our hats here http://www.chicagolandareamodernmopars.com/forum.htm

Everybody is welcome @ http://www.chicagolandareamodernmopars.com/forum.htm. Nobody is required to be part of CAMM. To be on this forum you do not have to be a member of CAMM. This is where CAMM parks and will as long as we are together.

Very nice Dave! Yeah I remember it all starting. The first time I met you guys was on the convoy to Tennessee. It was kindof weird how I never met any of you before but we all hit it off pretty well as if we knew each other for years. These past 2 years have been awesome and I wouldnt trade it for anything. I do consider my fellow CAMM Members family and I agree that we are pretty self sufficient. We also gladly welcome any fellow Mopar enthusiast to join the site, shoot the shit, hang out or do whatever with us and not have to be a CAMM member.

I have always wondered how CAMM came about. I feel like I am still so new to you guys and I don't know the whole history so this was kinda eye opening.

Thanks Dave. Smile

Thanks for posting that! Our trip to Gatty was the first time we met most of you guys and boy it was a great trip. In fact, it was our first trip with basically complete strangers but we came back as friends and now, well...you all do feel like family.

Well put Dave, I totally agree with everything said. In the last 2 yrs I have met some of the coolest people who enjoy some of the same things I enjoy. I have invited people over to my home and have been invited to other peoples homes and have always felt welcome. I am very happy to call each and everyone of you my friend!!!!

thanx dude, i enjoy writing sometimes. it comes easy for me with the proper motivation. although sometimes it's like smashing my head into a brick wall stringing 2 words together, lol!

if anybody has the picture taken in front of that hotel day 1 of the Tenn. trip, this would be a good place to post it.
