I just picked up a can of gloss black 500* engine paint and 500* gloss clear coat. I got them both at Pep-Boys for about $6 a can. If I dont have work on Saturday then im gonna give it a go.

Can you spray this stuff in the car or do you have to take it all out?

Take it all out. Otherwise you are going to get overspray everywhere.

I know it was a stupid question but had to ask. I don't know enough about engines to start taking stuff out. Oh well

The throttle body is actually very easy to remove. You will have to remove your airbox first then disconnect the harness from the throttle body and remove the 4 bolts that are holding the throttle body on. You will have to cover the electrical connector so what I did was take a rubber glove and cut the thumb off and put it over the connector and secured it with a rubber band. Also take up the throttle plate so you dont get that covered either.

If you are talking to me, my throttle body has held up pretty damn good. It looks exactly how it did the day I painted it. I went with the duplicolor 500* engine paint/primer and clear coat.

DO NOT USE Rustoleum paint, the clear will turn yellow, TRUST ME. My throttle body though was the only part that didn't yellow, but I wouldn't take nay chances. I'm gonna have to re-do it all again over the winter. I polished my valve covers & other stuff, the only problem I had was doing my throttle body, there is ALOT of TINY nooks I couldn't get to, so I polished parts of it and painted some others... here's a pic

Just a heads up, the whole thing cant be powdercoated because one side of it has a big plastic cover. The rest would look great though and Ray does some good work.
