PostSubject: Help with Cloth Seat Cleaning   11th May 2010, 11:46 am

A buddy of mine doesn't have the leather/vinyl interior and has the cloth instead. He was cleaning his car the other day and accidentally sprayed vinyl cleaner (meant for the dash) on one of his seats and there's some oily like residue left on it. He tried going back to his normal cloth cleaner (Tuff Stuff, I believe) but that didn't seem to work. Anyone have an idea how to get the stain out?

A mild degreaser might work, tell him to try some dish soap and use a vacuum to back it up and not let it soak in the cloth and foam for good measure.

I've used Fast Orange on cloth with no ill effects. Test it first.

A good carpet cleaner worked in with a nylon brush and extracted with a decent shop vac should do the trick. Good advice on testing first in a small inconspicuous area. if you can't get it out bring it by the shop and we can take care of it for you.

I have had good luck with OXY clean. dilute the powder in a small cup or bucket and brush on with a old toothbrush for spots, or a larger brush for the the whole interior. The vacuum with a good wet dry vac.
