| I just picked up a used (3000 miles) Pedders Touring setup for real cheap and I am going to be installing them as soon as I get them but needed to know if anybody knew the part number or knew what the rubber thing is on top of the front struts? I wanted to buy new ones from the dealer before putting my new suspension on just for peace of mind. Them rubber things to wear out right? Do they have the rubber things for the rears too? Also, is there anything else I should replace with a new piece when doing the swap? Thanks. |

| I had a Volvo S60 that I had to replace them on twice. I also think they were called Strut mounts... | Yeah man, they're upper strut mounts. I haven't seen them go bad on any cars like ours. You could IF you wanted piece of mind, but they are totally re-usable. The thing is they don't swivel like any other type of upper strut mount, usually there are upper bearing plates so the whole strut can turn, unlike ours they are fixed and don't. As for the rear, I TIHNK there are rubber insulators on both the top and bottom of the spring as well, same thing applies, you could replace them for piece of mind, or even if one or more are ripped or something liek that |

Ok so what you are saying even at 60k miles, there is a good chance mine might still be good? Id rather not spend the money but if there is a chance they do go bad, I guess now would be the time to change them. |

Thats reassuring. I just figured all the rubber bushings on our cars go out real quick so I assumed the rubber mounts would. I guess ill just see how they look when I take them apart. |

| Hey Jon, what do you think of the Pedders 32mm sway bar? That was included with the shocks that I bought off a guy. |

i dunno i haven't heard much about it. obviously its better than stock. if you were going to order sways i would tell you to look past them to some other brands, but if it comes with your new stuff there is no reason not to try it. the front sway is easy as hell to change out. does he have the rear bar too? getting a bigger rear bar seems to be just as important (if not more important) to get the car to rotate instead of plow on these heavy cars.
pedders makes some great coil-overs but they have a couple weird ideas about stuff. like how they say not to do sway bars first on your suspension and do them last. i don't agree with this because just because other stuff could be improved doesn't mean you shouldn't do the biggest improvement mod first. they also only sell improved rear sway bar end-links because as they think the front stock ones are good enough._________________ 2006 black /SRT//8/12.521 @ 112.263 MPH (corrected time) 2nd place SRT8 shootout Great Lakes Dragway 2008 / 2nd place Maywood Park AutoX 2009http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CjQeby5cB1Q / http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v0So5e-GGXM |

I was actually planning on selling the Pedders one and putting that money towards the Hotchkis kit. But I wanted the sway bars for the Challenger because they are thicker and I was told they will fit on the Charger. And yeah, if I do upgrade the end links, im going with BWoody, I dont like the OEM ones. |

why would you get the hotchkis bars? they are like 125 bux more than the stack performance ones and so many people have noise problems with them.
-the stack bars are 38mm front and 19mm rear. 100% stiffer front and 150% stiffer in rear. they cost $325.00
-the hotchkis challenger bars are the same diameters and stiffness levels for the challenger set and cost $451.00
-the hotchkis charger bars are only 35mm front and 19mm rear. only 30% stiffer front and 150% stiffer rear
so yes the challenger bars are the ones to go with if you buy hotchkis ones but they they still have noise/lube problems and cost 125bux more..._________________ 2006 black /SRT//8/12.521 @ 112.263 MPH (corrected time) 2nd place SRT8 shootout Great Lakes Dragway 2008 / 2nd place Maywood Park AutoX 2009http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CjQeby5cB1Q / http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v0So5e-GGXM |

I didnt know about the noise problems and I didnt know the Stacks were that much cheaper. Ill take your word for it. You think I should forget about the Hotchkis all together and just get the Stacks? The ones for the Charger are 38 and 19mm? |

| yes, me and tom both have them and love them. ask Adam he saw my bars when we put them in. they are thick as hell and build/powdercoat quality was top notch. i also have one track day on them and they did amazing things for my car. front grip was much improved. you will be love the first time you wag in your lane and the car stays so flat. that puts more force on the front outside tire making more grip and steering response (turn in bite) in corners. that grip reduces under-steer (front end plowing into a corner). since the rear is stiffer it will grip better too or slide out if you put power down to rotate the car. its much more predictable and go cart feeling. i just think you should save the 125 bux and get a product i feel is similar if not better. it took me a long time to decide to get the stack ones over the hotchkis since they have been "the one" to get on my truck forum for like 8 years. i am glad i got the stack ones instead. http://www.stackperformance.com/store/products/Stack_Performance_Chubby_Sway_Bars-132-31.html stack "chubby" front bar next to stock SRT front bar stack rear bar installed _________________ 2006 black /SRT//8/12.521 @ 112.263 MPH (corrected time) 2nd place SRT8 shootout Great Lakes Dragway 2008 / 2nd place Maywood Park AutoX 2009http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CjQeby5cB1Q / http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v0So5e-GGXM
