John said he blew his tranny and snapped an axel running a Getrag open rear end. I thought they were all LSD, but he says his wasn't. It must be all of that stress on the one side instead of dividing it between the two axels. He also told me he had the 3.73 gear, which I think is way tall for that tranny, but he had good 60' times and a nice et.

didn't he have a manual car too? your driveline shock would be nothing like launching a manual. seing some of the 10second cars on lxforums are using the getrag lsd with a builder bill valve body on a stock trans. i don't think you will have problems, at least not for a while. but you might want to look into a builder bill valve body or blue tops to increase line pressure and prolong trans life.

Not sure about the trans. I was in too much shock after hearing about a Getrag open re. I have a buddy Badd Boy2 who has an R/T Chally and his has an LSD, so I dunno. I do know John swapped out the stock one though. I think he just wanted that 3.73 gear. Something don't sound right to me, but what do I know, lol.
