Ok so I've done ALOT of research in to this subject

V HANDS DOWN!

But here is the problem....

If the cops are happing to be using LAZER/lidar your fucked, plain and simple. It takes less than a second for lazer to acquire your speed. Now if the decteor is for radar your a lot better off using it for early detection, in fact this works very will when they are hiding and in speed traps i always get them WAY before the could even see me, this is why I'm a firm believer in ''getting your kicks'' on twisty and hilly roads because a good radar will pick up a cop at some point before you are ever straight on with a cop.

Now if you really want to be safe you have to have jammers its a FACT.

I got some good an bad and news on the subject first the bad, IT IS ILLEGAL to jam radar bands x,k ,ka and other frequency for that mater, the good news is that most law enforcement agency's are upgrading to lazer which because it's a beam of light can be legally blocked, however it is illegal in some states, IL being one of them, but the fact is most cops will be dumbfounded and beat the damn thing and just say screw it and moved on to the next car and if you get a smart cop the penalty is better than a speeding tickets i.e. $75 fine zero points and a lot less hassle...

well, the Valentine radar detectors are the best, but they cost upwards of around $500. I believe also that the Valentine detetors are also jammers, which are illegal in illinois. If you want a good brand, but won't be spending the arm and a leg for the really fancy ones, look into a Whistler or a Cobra. I myself have the Whislter XTR-695, only cost like $140 and it works great! Ive been getting at least 3/4 mile detection range, possibly further.... how much more time do you really need at that point?

Valentine detetors do NOT have jammers and fact any jammer that can fit in you window is FAKE.

There are only two brands of LAZER JAMMERS, there are NO jammers for radars that use the X Band, K band or KA Band.

Even with a 3/4mile range if you are in line of sight of the cop by the time you radar goes off you brake you speed is allready captured.

and like i said LASER JAMMERS are Illegal in about 10 states IL being one of them but the peantly for a speeding ticket is far worse. You would get a 75$ ticket and that is it, no points...no supervision.. and not mention IL is raisng the prices of speeding tickets.

lazer jammers (i suujest you go read up on them.)

Blinder M27 X-Treme Laser Jammer (has two heads)
Blinder M47 X-Treme Laser Jammer (has four heads)

Laser Interceptor Generation 8 Laser Interceptor- Dual (two heads)
Laser Interceptor Generation 8 Laser Interceptor - QUAD (four heads)

you shouldnt be relying on your radar detector to save you from all speeding tickets to begin with. Just cuz you have one doesnt mean you won't get caught. No one radar detector is 100% fail safe. I more or less have it to help keep me more focused on my speed, since i seem unable to drive any slower than 50mph, no matter where im at. Any alarm i get i check my speed and my $140 whistler has already paid for itself in the number of tickets ive been saved from... The laser detector, well, no matter what brand you buy, if the laser goes off, it just means you should start getting ready to be pulled over...

I have the same issue hear, the time where the jammmer is useful for me is going to school down from rand road to i-355 just full of damn cars.

But if they got you on lazer i know i'm fucked there is just no leway with it at all thats why i'd have jammers they can't pick up your speed to about 500 ft or so and hopefully you will see them then. and you lazer dector would have told you to slow down too.

Its funny you say that, because I was just saying that in another thread. When I used to ride, I never once even thought about stopping when a cop tried pulling me over. I'm sorry but the thrill and adreneline you feel when out running a cop on a bike is un-matched!
