so, with it being so hot outside, and reading a few posts on the forums about our cars being subject to a lot of heat, I was wondering what, if anything anyone has done about extracting the heat from the engines better? I know a lot have done the 180 jet t-stat, and the predator tune on the fans, but how much does that really help? Has anyone done anything else for heat extraction? Im just curious here since i know a lot of people are into performance mods and things, and since heat can be an issue, what people have done about it.

I dont think there is much you can do. I know on my car when its heat soaked it becomes a dog!

As long as it never goes over 200* it's ok. After it hits 200 you lose a degree of timing. You could coat your intake inside and out. It's expensive, though.

Dont know if you want to or not but if you drop your lower engine cover under the car by removing the 4 bolts... it will drop your temps real quick but then you have to worry about all the crap that will come up from the road...

With the 180 t'stat and the fans adjusted, mine seldom goes over 200. The trade-off is that the fans run practically all the time in city driving on hot days.
