| So this weekend I was out driving around looking for some place I was supposed to be going. I ended up missing the spot and had to turn around in someone's driveway. Now I was forced to pull out and make a right hand turn. I always give myself plenty of room because it drives my nuts when I've caught a curb in the past, however small the blemish may be. I probably should have waited another minute or so for traffic to die down.....but rather than wait I decided to pull out. I thought I was giving myself enough room to avoid the other cars and the curb....and then I feel a thud on the rear passenger side wheel. We've all been there and your stomach just sinks. You're thinking, how much money did I just cost myself? or how stupid and jacked up is this wheel gonna look? So once we got to our destination I get out and see this. It may appear small but it looked like I just took a chunk out of my rim. After thinking about it all weekend I remembered this mobile rim repair link I saw on here. This morning I called my guys at Discount Tire and they also confirmed that this guy at Accurate Alloy does amazing work. I talked to John this morning at Accurate and he said a tech would call me today. Chris, who did the work, did everything to accomodate my work schedule and came and did the work in the loading doc of my place of business. This was no easy task trying to get approval as I work for major corporate america in a 7 story building. Within about an hour he had the entire job done. I asked him to show me where he did the repair. He said, why don't you tell me where it is. After about 3 attempts to find where I thought it could be I gave up and he pointed to it. ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!! For $100 it was the best thing I could have done. Now I won't have to look at it EVERY single time I go out to my car. Here is what it looked liked after. Great work at Accurate Alloy!! At last there is hope for all of us that have been careless drivers from time to time. My rim has been saved. I even called John back to let him know what a great job they did. Just wanted to share with all of you. Sorry for the orientation on the fixed pictures...but I assure you that is the spot that was fixed. |

| glad ya got em fixed!! but the 2nd pic isnt right, CLOSE UP.... the rash is to the edge of the one spoke,on the right of the spoke, under and between the 2 T's of the word NITTO on the tire... the pic you posted is to the next spoke over from the damaged area, right of damage, and the left side of a spoke... but must a done a damn find job if you couldnt see it or find it... hell of alot cheaper than a new rim!! great post! _________________ The Mistress |

| Is that rim chrome or alloy? It looks good. I had to send mine off to get repaired. |

| Big Mel - I would assume it is allow based....but its got a gun metal finish on it. Bottom line is they can do aluminum alloy, chrome, black, whatever. He didn't have the exact color made so he custom mixed a color for me. Not just the color, but the finish and texture is right on. You can run your finger along where the spot used to be and you would never know it had been dinged.
Good catch DartBoy....lol. I was in the neighborhood of where the repair was. It literally took 3 attempts before the guy told me where it was. |

| Accurate Alloy.....they work exclusively in DuPage county. They come to you, but I'm sure they could work something out to help you. There is a sticky posted on the forum with the number. |
