PostSubject: new parts   15th July 2010, 7:56 pm

so i was gonna build my own adjustable sway bar end links like the expensive jobbers that razors edge and stack performance sell but i got lazy. i stumbled on a great deal on the bwoody's and couldn't pass up the price. these just showed up today. hopefully i can put them in this weekend... this is kinda temporary i think as i do want solid adjustable sway bar end links eventually.

I'm surprised you haven't bent one yet at Maywood, Jon. Those look stout.

they are on. the factory bolts on the front are retarded. the backs got swapped out in like 20 minutes but the fronts gave me some trouble as i snapped 2 sockets just trying to get the bottom bolt loose with a breaker bar. i guess we impacted them on a little too good Adam, lol. then the bolts themselves are a stupid design because you can't just use a 21mm socket on the top nut or the bolt just spins. you have to put a 21mm crescent wrench on the nut and use a 10mm socket on the bolt end itself. the replacement bolts with the front bwoody links are much better and have nylon lock nuts with allen heads on the bolt heads to keep them still so you can use a normal socket on the nut.

factory ones were not bent when i pulled them off but the bushings on them were toast. oddly i swear the front end looks lower after the bwoody install, but maybe I'm just crazy. i know you can adjust ride hight a bit with adjustable end links to fix for sag on one side or the other.

thanks kyle. it was so not the day to be fighting with stubborn bolts. my friend thought i was leaking brake fluid but it was just all my sweat on the ground near the wheel well. lol. I'm just glad i got them on before the next autocross.

had to skip a couple great shows today to put them on. oh well... it was worth it.

quite a bit i think. even more crisp turn in than before. on the way home from my fiends house every corner i take real fast had a car in front of me dragging ass. it was pissing me off. lol.

i think the biggest difference is from the poly bushings in the links. the design is basically the same as factory only beefier so they don't bend.
