PostSubject: Mopar/Mercedes HID Specific kit's For sell   22nd September 2010, 4:13 pm

Well the fact is that the people at was previously known as Daimler/Chrysler got wind of this HID craze and decided they would cash in on it; this is when they began offering factory HID systems. The problem soon arose as sticker shock for most people. This option is normally $1,200 and up but what they neglected to calculate is nobody would spend that amount for something they knew very little, if anything, about. Let’s face it, when looking for your car, was this even explained to you? It was poorly marketed from the beginning. Then, when the HID market began to grow people saw, and realized, what they were and what they did. Sales dropped even more so their devious minds set out to make the most Unnecessarily complicated system to put aftermarket hid’s on to date.

First it started with PWM; in a nut shell this allows the car to see the exact amount of current the headlamp (or anything else in the car) is using. It does this by: 1) sensing too low or too high of an voltage/current. 2) It has the ability to limit/restrict power to a set current, and 3) it is able to completely Kill power to the headlamp and illuminate the light out error on your dash.

Why is this an issue with Hid kits? Some generic assemblies use more or less power than a standard halogen bulb, when this happens it will either A. flicker because current is being restricted or B. the light will come on and then immediately off because it is pulling too much current at “warm-up”. This was fixed by adding capacitors and/or a relay harness which normally resolved the issue.

BUT in late 2007/2008 they changed how this system works and provided limits restricting the under & over voltage/current draw. And, depending on the system, it would display the “Light out” or THE C.E.L. light, on the dash. This became an issue for people using relay’s and cap’s as most HID harness relays Only pull power from one side. With no power being pulled from the opposing side, this meant you now have an annoying bulb lit on your dash. The fix for this was to put a resistor on the headlight which caused another host of issues, including fire. They once again Modified the factory light system with reverse polarity on the opposite side of the car. With some hid kits this would cause a short circuit.

So here you are with tons of wires resistors caps and other crap all in your engine bay... and even then it sometimes did not work right; usually indicated by only one light turning on at a time.

So the safest Fix is found in the MOPAR/Mercedes Kits. They are built with all the necessary components in one package. They are simply designed to work in a specific current/voltage range allowing the ECU to see the proper draw and thusly prevent any errors. They are true bolt on HID kit for our cars.

Are you installing these as "plug & play" kits or are you running a wire and a relay to the battery for the extra current draw?

100% Plug and Play, they draw no more power (even at start up) than halogens, it is not needed.

Trust me you are not, I Like potential customers who ask questions Smile I feel you should fully understand what you're buying and how it works.

There is a two year warranty If I do the install, One year if you chose to do it your self The reason for this is because improper placement or bad connections are the biggest reasons for failure. And I'm proud to say i have yet to have on of these go bad, I sell three different types of kits and theses have yet to go bad. About 10% of the other kits get sent/come back and only about 7% are actually bad.

To answer you third question, my distributor is, He supply's to the majority of the shops in the Midwest, The shop owners came to the conclusion that we need a better less complicated solution for some cars. So he had these ballasts made for us, They are made in japan to his specs and then imported here.

[, They are made in japan to his specs and then imported here.[/quote]

That's what I ordered for my kit when I bought it. The Jap stuff is the only good stuff. It's all of the Taiwan and China kit's that don't work.

$15 cheaepr, They are all the same brightness, but different colors, If you worried about the law use the OEM stander ed 4300K (white) will be what you want.

Depending on how bad/old your current bulbs are, Probly about double to three times as bright as you have now,

Marc does a great job, and if there's any issues afterwards, he's definitely good to help fix it. I highly recommend!!!
